The dose of fluoxetine may be gradually increased to a maximum of 60 mg per day. If there is no improvement within 10 weeks, you should consult your doctor as you may need to choose a different treatment.

Death by overdose of fluoxetine alone is extremely rare. Doses higher than 60 mg per day may result in symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, seizures, cardiovascular disorders, lung dysfunction or even coma.
