According to the information on the composition of Ibesan butyrate, it does not contain any carbohydrates (including any sugars). Ibesan Butyrate Forte contains small amounts of sugars (less than 0.1 g) - however, the analysis of the ingredient list does not show what sugars they are.

The taste of sodium butyrate itself is sometimes described as "slightly specific", "distinctive", sometimes "buttery".
