Can I reduce the dose of Hydroxychloroquine due to drowsiness after using it?

I've been taking 3 weeks of Hydroxychloroquine tablets and I've been very sleepy for the last three days. Is it possible to take half a 200mg tablet so that the body gets used to it, and then a normal dose? I can't work in this state and I look weary.
Thank you

Please remember that you must not make changes to the dosage of medications on your own without consulting your doctor, as this may significantly affect the therapeutic effects and increase the risk of side effects.

Due to the fact that it is a prescription medicine, it would be advisable to consult a doctor. I would advise you to mention your symptoms at the appointment. Your doctor will then be able to decide whether or not to change your dosage.

Drowsiness is one of the side effects that patients report when using Hydroxychloroquine.

According to the manufacturer of the drug, Hydroxychloroquine works cumulatively and requires several weeks to achieve a therapeutic effect, while minor side effects can occur relatively early.

If you are unable to contact your doctor, you can use the teleconsultation here:

Here you can check the availability of the medicine and book it at the pharmacy:

I also encourage you to report any side effects you are experiencing. You can find out more about why it is worth it and how to do it in this article:
