It is not possible to dispense half a pack of a prescription medicine. If 14-tablet packs are available, the pharmacist can order the medicine from the wholesaler.
However, there is an exception to this rule.
In §5(3) of the Regulation on the demand and dispensing of medicinal products, foodstuffs intended for particular nutritional uses and medical devices, the regulation lists the medicinal products that can be divided and the conditions to be observed in such a situation. In accordance with the above-mentioned provision, it is permissible to divide medicinal products: antibiotics for internal use, in the form intended for parenteral administration, in the form for inhalation administration, with the availability category "Rpw", containing psychotropic substances from groups III-P and IV-P or narcotic drugs from group II-N, as defined in the Act of 29 July 2005 on counteracting drug addiction.
