Is Xifaxan the best antibiotic to treat diverticulitis?
Good morning, is Xifanax 400 mg used to treat diverticulitis the best antibiotic? Previously, the doctor prescribed me some inexpensive soft tissue penetrating antibiotic and after 4 days of use, the pain was gone.

Xifaxan is a broad-spectrum antibiotic whose active substance is rifaximin. One of the registered indications for the use of the drug is symptomatic uncomplicated diverticular disease of the large intestine. However, it is difficult to clearly assess whether it is the best treatment for this ailment - it is an individual matter, depending, m.in, on the course of the disease and the patient's condition.
