which can be the cause of mucus running down the throat causing the feeling of "retention" of something in the throat and excessive amount of saliva in the mouth. I've noticed that it has to do with the cold weather and the runny nose that occurs throughout the winter. What can be used?

Residual mucus can have many causes - it can be related to allergies, infections, changes in room temperature, inappropriate humidity.
Perhaps you do not drink enough fluids - try to drink at least 1.5 liters of water a day and take care of the proper humidity in your home (about 60%) and do not overheat.

If your symptoms worsen, you may be able to use over-the-counter medications.
