Hello, the ophthalmologist prescribed erythromycin ointment for chalazion, but I don't know if I should give it to the eye or lubricate the chalazion itself, in the leaflet it does not write anything about the use in children, son 3 years old

In the case of the treatment of chalazion, i.e. Meibomian gland cysts, unless otherwise recommended by the doctor, erythromycin ointment is applied topically, to the affected part of the eyelid margin.
In the literature I do not find any information on contraindications to the use of erythromycin eye ointment in children.
