Why did bloating and gas appear after 2 doses of lactulose?
2 days ago I started taking lactulosum for chronic Constipation. After the 2nd dose of 15ml. there was a bowel movement ( slight diarrhoea ) He continues to take it, but there is no bowel movement since. There are bloating and gas. Is this a sign that it is not working?

Most likely, the dose of the preparation is insufficient.
The recommended dosage is as follows:
'Starting dose (for the first three days): 45 ml of syrup (22.5 g of liquid lactulose) per day used once before breakfast or 15 ml three times daily before meals. Maintenance dose: 15 ml syrup (7.5 g liquid lactulose) on an empty stomach."
For example, you can now use the initial dose for 2 days, then the maintenance dose for about a week.
