Can my husband stop taking Xarelto if there is regular blood in my stool?
Can my husband stop taking xarelto, since he has been defecating with blood since he takes it, and he has been taking it since September. He doesn't have an appointment with a cardiologist until January. It is treated for atrial fibrillation caused by hyperthyroidism.

Do not stop taking Xarelto without talking to your doctor. An urgent visit to a doctor (it may be a general practitioner) and an assessment of the possibility of further anticoagulant therapy are recommended, as the occurrence of haemorrhage is an indication to change the treatment.
