I recommend waiting about a month after finishing your treatment with Orungal, before performing the IPL laser treatment
Contraindications to IPL treatment include: epilepsy, cancer, vitiligo, psoriasis, implanted pacemaker, photodermatosis, pregnancy and lactation, fresh tan, hormone therapy, use of photosensitizing drugs, inflammation at the treatment site, taking antibiotics.
Orungal contains itraconazole as the active substance. It is a substance with antifungal properties. It is a drug that can cause a phototoxic reaction. Concentrations in the skin can be 3-10 times higher than in the blood. It can remain on the skin for up to 4 weeks after discontinuation of the drug, and on the nails for up to a year.
A phototoxic reaction is a non-immune skin reaction that occurs acutely within a few minutes to hours on skin exposed to sunlight after taking photosensitizing drugs.
