'Good morning I write in such a case, because I am a disabled person, I suffered a traffic accident in which I broke the cervical spine with a spinal cord injury, which caused quadriplegia and. I have fragile bones and a colleague recommended me a prolia injection and I wanted to ask if I am 34 years old, if I am entitled to reimbursement and if the family doctor can prescribe this medicine.

Prolia is reimbursed for the following indications in men: "Osteoporosis (T-score less than or equal to -2.5 as measured by DXA or the occurrence of an osteoporotic fracture) in men over 60 years of age, after failure of treatment with oral bisphosphonates or with contraindications (intolerance) to their use".
I don't know if you meet the criteria for bone density and others, but in the case of a 34-year-old person, the doctor will not give you a discounted prescription in my opinion. However, there are no formal restrictions for a GP to prescribe a medicine such as Prolia. However, they will certainly not follow the recommendation of an outsider, but will either want to perform additional tests or will want to get acquainted with your medical records from a specialist.
