I do not think that there is a need for an additional dose of the drug (excess may increase the risk of side effects). Taking expired or opened drugs longer than recommended by the manufacturer may reduce the effectiveness of the treatment and - in an extreme situation - cause poisoning (active substances may decompose, etc.). It is necessary to observe the child. If you experience disturbing symptoms (vomiting, fever), you should see a doctor.
