Are there any hormonal agents similar to Diane-35 safe for women over 50?

I've been struggling with acne all my life. Only when I take Diane-35 it disappears. Now I'm 51 and the gynecologist told me to stop Diane-35. After two months, acne terrible. The dermatologist prescribed Clindacne and Epiduo Forte. But the skin is red and terribly irritated, itches, burns. I wanted to ask if there is anything hormonal that can be used instead of Diane-35 at this age? Thank you so much.

All with a similar effect to Diane-35 carry the risk of developing thrombosis. Most likely, this was what the gynecologist was guided by when advising against further hormone therapy.

Redness and itching of the skin in the initial period of using Clindacne and Epiduo Forte are normal and typical symptoms. After a few days, the skin should get used to these measures and the symptoms will disappear, so it is worth continuing the therapy. It is important to avoid direct exposure to the sun's rays - do not sunbathe, do not use a solarium.

If after about 4-6 weeks of acne treatment you do not observe improvement, only then should you consider returning to Diane-35 with regular blood tests, m.in. morphology, D-dimers, fibrinogen.
