What should I do if the gynecologist has prescribed me Lanzul and the leaflet says that pregnant women should not take it?

Hello. I'm pregnant. My gynecologist prescribed me Lanzul 30mg. The leaflet says that pregnant women should not take them. What should I do?

Follow your doctor's instructions.

Lansoprazole in Lanzul belongs to category B in the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) classification, which groups medicines according to their safety during pregnancy.

Category B: B: Animal studies have shown no risk to the foetus but no controlled studies have been conducted in pregnant women, or animal studies have shown a risk to the foetus that has not been confirmed in studies in pregnant women – in other words, the medicine is probably safe.
