Why does ivermectin not kill adult scabies mites?
What does it mean that ivermectin does not act on adult individuals of the parasite? I have scabies. Does this mean that ivermectin will not kill adult scabies? Thank you in advance for your reply

Niestey on the leaflet it is written that ivermectin does not work on adults. It says it doesn't work in general. Not only on filariae. I'm also in a bind.

According to the manufacturer, "Ivermectin has not been shown to work against adults of any filariae species." Human scabies mites do not belong to the species filariae - therefore, in the case of scabies, the drug also acts on adult individuals.
