Hello, I wonder what drugs are available to Meritorious Blood Donors besides those from the list. For example, can painkillers such as Nimesil also be obtained at a discount? I also wonder if OTC preparations like Ascofer or vitamin B complex can be obtained at the pharmacy after showing the booklet or whether I need to have a prescription from a doctor.

In order to obtain discounted or free medicines for the Honorary Blood Donor, it is necessary to present a medical prescription and a booklet confirming the possession of these rights. This applies to both prescription and over-the-counter medicines (e.g. Ascofer). The current list of free preparations can be found in the link: https://isap.sejm.gov.pl/isap.nsf/download.xsp/WDU20220001211/O/D20221211.pdf Also, some other reimbursed drugs may be dispensed to a patient with a ZK entitlement in a pharmacy with a lower fee. The said Nimesil can be dispensed with an additional discount, provided that a pack of 30 sachets at a discount has been prescribed and the patient presents appropriate documents confirming entitlements. I encourage you to read an additional opinion in a similar query: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/opinie-i-pytania/7873/jak-sprawdzic-czy-lek-przysluguje-na-zk The discount is also available for drugs used, for example, in the treatment of hypertension. Additional discounts resulting from the ZK entitlement may be granted only for preparations (medicines, special medical purposes) covered by reimbursement and recommended in reimbursed indications. In the case of fully paid drugs (or medicines prescribed with full payment, e.g. off-label), the ZK discount does not apply (the exception is the above-mentioned list).
