What should I do if my heart pain does not go away with Colchicine for pericarditis?

Colchicine is recommended for the treatment of acute gout attacks. It can also be used to prevent acute attacks of gout when starting treatment with other drugs, such as allopurinol, probenecid, for example. The use of the drug in the treatment of pericarditis is the so-called "off-label" recommendation, i.e. outside the registered indications. The decision to use an off-label drug is made by the doctor on the basis of, m.in of his clinical experience. Available clinical studies indicate the effectiveness of colchicine in the treatment of pericarditis, as well as the prevention of its recurrence.
