Good morning, on the prescription I have written Auroverin MR 200 mg caps. o pre. releasing 100% hard. Unfortunately, I can't find any anywhere, they are only about: modified release. What does it matter? Best regards

Prolonged release and modified release are two terms for a form of medicine that is not released immediately after taking a dose. Prolonged release means slow extraction of the drug in a controlled manner, e.g. from a capsule, while modified release may mean that, for example, part of the dose is released quickly and part slowly. Auroverin MR 200 mg in the Aurovitas portfolio is only in the form of "modified-release capsules" of 30 or 60 hard capsules. However, in the Register of Medicinal Products - which can be used by cabinet systems for issuing prescriptions - the only Auroverin MR card is described as "prolonged-release capsules". However, after opening the drug card, the description of the package leaflet and the Summary of Product Characteristics refers to "modified-release capsules". It therefore appears that there are some inaccuracies between the drug inventory and the registration for Auroverin. To sum up - to the best of my knowledge and evaluation, only one type of Auroverin MR capsules is available on the market. To confirm this, I will send an inquiry to the marketing authorisation holder. I enclose a link with the availability of Auroverin MR in pharmacies integrated with GdziePoLek: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/96106/auroverin-mr-kapsulki-o-przedluzonym-uwalnianiu/apteki Perhaps you will also be interested in our studies: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/kategorie/zespol-jelita-drazliwego-ibs https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/zespol-jelita-drazliwego-z-pamietnika-pacjentki
