Good morning, Can Nasic nasal drops that have flowed slightly down the throat during their use affect the contraceptive effect of Orlificique pills? I used the drops 3 hours after taking the tablet.

There is no evidence that Nasic nasal drops can affect the effectiveness of birth control pills such as Orlifique. Please note that Nasic must be applied correctly for Nasic to be effective. Before administering the drug, it is necessary to clean the nose of secretions and, if possible, rinse it with sea water or saline. The child's head should be slightly tilted forward, and the tip of the applicator should be directed to the side wall of the nose (towards the corner of the eye), and not to the septum. Incorrectly applied medicine flows down the back wall of the throat into the stomach, which prevents it from working.
