Can Visanne be used for painful periods?

Hello. My problem is painful menstruation. The doctor prescribed me birth control pills, I took them, but there were side effects such as severe migraines or swelling of the legs. He prescribed me the drug Visanne but I do not have Endometriosis until the end, I do not know what to do, start using the drug visanne?
