Hello, I am 21 years old (male) and recently I started to be interested in taking care of the skin of the face, because I have acne skin for a long time and I wanted to embrace it, so I went to a dermatologist who prescribed me Epiduo. I also bought a few other specifics that I read are good: Cerave Cleansing Cleansing Gel for normal and oily skin (because I found that my skin is rather oily), The ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%, The ordinary Salicid Acid 2. I have been using these preparations for 3 days, Cerave and The ordinary in the morning and evening on the whole face and Epiduo in the evening only on the forehead, sides of the face and chin and here my question, because I noticed that my skin is reddened, especially under the eyes, peels and burns, especially when applying cosmetics. I read a little and like none of these measures should not collide with each other. Should I stop using any of the cosmetics or apply less often? Shouldn't we worry about it and continue to do so? Thanks in advance for your reply Regards

It is normal that in the initial period of treatment (the first 2 weeks) more acne lesions usually appear or the skin is red and peeling. The first effects of treatment are usually visible only after about 4 weeks of regular use of the drug. In my opinion, it is worth giving up the use of cosmetics with salicylic acid, which has a keratolytic and exfoliating effect. In combination with Epiduo, it can cause irritation. It may also be necessary to discontinue the cream with zinc - this substance has strong drying properties. This information is also provided by the manufacturer of EpiDuo in the Safety Data Sheet: "Use exfoliating, irritating and drying cosmetics with caution, as they may have an irritating effect when used concomitantly with this medicinal product." I enclose a link to the page where you can check the availability of the drug and make a reservation at the pharmacy: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/27377/epiduo-zel/apteki You can read about how to care for acne-prone skin here: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/kategorie/dermokosmetyki-do-skory-tradzikowej https://www.gdziepolek.pl/kategorie/tradzik
