Cupping is one of the therapeutic methods used mainly in inflammatory conditions of the respiratory tract, such as pneumonia or bronchitis. They are also used for colds and flu as well as for diseases of the skeletal system. Their action is most likely due to the reaction of the immune system to micro-injuries caused by the negative pressure generated in the bulb. This improves blood supply to tissues and increases the production of antibodies. Medicine cups are divided into fire cups - usually glass and hot cupping, and non-fire cups, which need a pump to create pressure.
