Are Atenolol and Mononit replacements? Do they have a similar effect?

I have been taking atenolol 25 for many years, for over a year there is no such drug in pharmacies and I am prescribed mononit, whether it is a replacement for the first one or has a similar effect, because I feel pain in the back of my head for several hours.

Atenolol and Mononite are completely different drugs, they are not equivalents / substitutes. Here we explain what the equivalents are: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/czym-sa-zamienniki-lekow Mononit is used to treat "long-term angina pectoris and prevent its seizures". Atenolol can also be used in such an indication. However, they can affect your body in a completely different way. Angina is associated with the course of coronary heart disease and itself manifests itself with pain and a feeling of tightness in the chest. If you have a headache after Mononit, tell your doctor. Perhaps the pain is provoked by the drug. According to the information collected about the drug, the headache usually goes away after a few days of treatment. If you think that the ailments described by you may be related to the use of the drug, it is necessary to report it to your doctor or do it yourself. About why and how to report such side effects that have not been previously described, we wrote here: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/jak-i-dlaczego-zglaszac-dzialania-niepozadane https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/czy-bac-sie-dzialan-niepozadanych-lekow
