Good morning. I struggle with psoriasis of the scalp. The dermatologist prescribed Belosalic ointment to lubricate until the husk disappears. However, on the leaflet it is clearly written that Belosalic ointment should not be applied to the scalp. Can this use harm me?

Belosalic ointment I use only on the body. On the scalp must not be used, only in liquid. Go to the family doctor, let him write a prescription for Belosalic liquid. Best regards

For the treatment of dermatoses of the scalp, it is recommended to use a preparation in the form of a liquid. The use of ointment carries an increased risk of folliculitis. The doctor also has the right to use the drug in indications other than those registered and listed in the Summary of Product Characteristics, more on this subject we wrote here: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/leczenie-off-label-poza-wskazaniami In case of doubt, I encourage you to consult your doctor again. It is the doctor who decides whether to treat the patient m.in based on the history of the disease and the previous response to treatment. Only a doctor can decide on a possible change in pharmacotherapy. If you are unable to get to your primary care doctor, the gdziepolek.pl Service also allows you to obtain a teleconsultation with a doctor: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/telekonsultacja
