In children weighing less than 45 kg, it is recommended to use Azitrolek oral suspension, due to the easier way of administration and the possibility of more precise dosing. The usual daily dose of the drug depends on the child's body weight and the length of treatment, if the drug is used for 1-3 days, the usual dose for a child weighing 14 kg is 140 mg. If the doctor has recommended a 5-day course, then the usual dose of the drug on 1 day is 140 mg, and for the next 4 days 70 mg. The daily dose recommended by the doctor is 250 mg, which is higher than the doses usually used. The doctor, based on his own knowledge and experience, has the right to prescribe treatment other than usually used - this is the so-called off-label treatment, which we write more about in the text: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/leczenie-off-label-poza-wskazaniami In case of doubt, it is worth seeking medical advice again. If necessary, you can consult a pediatrician on-line: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/telekonsultacja/z-pediatra
