Can I apply Dicortineff prescribed for otitis in a 2-year-old child to overgrown eyes?

Good morning, the daughter of a 2-year-old has ear inflammation, the doctor prescribed dicortineff 2 drops 3 times a day. Drops of her 3 days and now her eyes festered can I also drop dicortineff? To the ear and eye at the same time? What dose into the eye?

Dicortineff are drops for both the ear and the eye. In ophthalmology, it is used in inflammation of the eyeball, uvea or conjunctiva. Dosage into the eye for children over 2 years of age (according to the manufacturer): 1-2 drops up to 5 times a day (the exact dosage is determined by the doctor). Answering your question: Yes, this preparation can be used to treat both the eye and the ear. Unfortunately, we are not able to assess whether inflammation and bacterial infection are also the cause of the swollen eyes. Dicortineff contains antibiotics and a steroid. At first, I would observe the child and wash my eyes with saline, if the problem worsens (significant red eyes) - you can give this medicine (due to holidays and difficult medical assistance) as 1 drop - 3 times a day, and after Christmas contact the attending physician. It is important that when applying drops to both the eye and ear, the tip of the dropper does not directly touch the eyeball or ear elements - so as not to transfer additional bacteria from one place to another.
