Persistent bleeding should prompt you to see a doctor. Without seeing the nose and/or performing tests, it is impossible to prejudge what may be the cause. Directly blood appears as a result of damage to a blood vessel, but the reason may be trauma, infection, medications used, hypertension, atherosclerosis, inflammation of the mucous membrane, rhinitis, granulomatous diseases, polyps or blood clotting disorders. This is not an exhaustive list. Nosebleeds do not always have to mean a serious illness - sometimes it is a temporary indisposition associated with, for example, drying of the nasal mucosa by heating. However, as I mentioned - if the bleeding is not incidental, you should contact your family doctor or otolaryngologist.
