How long before the planned pregnancy should I discontinue Protoic ointment 0.01%?
I use protopic ointment 0.1%. How long before the planned pregnancy should I stop the ointment? Is it enough to stop at the time of pregnancy or early enough?

There is no absolute need to stop taking Protopic before you plan to become pregnant. The manufacturer recommends that Protopic ointment should not be used during pregnancy if it is not strictly necessary. However, no teratogenic effect (contributing to malformations) of Protopic on the fetus has been reported. However, it is recommended to perform more frequent ultrasound examinations to assess the development of the fetus. Any modifications in the therapy should be made after consultation with the attending physician familiar with your current state of health.
