Can Trazodone neuraxpharm be used temporarily before falling asleep?
Good morning, I received the drug trazodone neuraxpharm that due to a sleep problem. I try to avoid pills, and I have a question whether you need to take this drug every day. Could I try to fall asleep earlier on my own, and only when it does not bring any effect, reach for this drug? Is it safe. I took only 1 tablet. I will be grateful for your reply.

Trazodone is one of the antidepressants, it is also useful in the treatment of sleep disorders - an off-label indication. According to the results of research, this drug has a beneficial effect on both the quantity and quality of sleep. The recommended starting dose of Leu Trazodone is 25-50 mg. It should be increased slowly over 2-4 weeks. The clinical response is usually achieved within 2-4 weeks; after achieving an adequate clinical response, treatment should last at least a month (preferably until the patient develops symptoms for 4-6 months), gradually reducing the dose to the lowest effective dose. The lack of addictive potential of the drug makes it an attractive alternative to benzodvazepine derivatives and Z drugs (zopiclone, zolpidem, zaleplon) in the case of sleep disorders. To sum up, Trazodone should be taken every day, regardless of whether you have trouble sleeping or not. Taking a single tablet will not allow the full effect of the drug to be revealed. Its therapeutic effect is revealed after about a week of treatment.
