It coats the mucous membranes of the esophagus due to the content of hyaluronic acid and chondroidin sulfate. It protects the upper gastrointestinal tract from symptoms such as heartburn, cough that appears with reflux. It is a mechanical barrier that protects against irritants of the esophagus. The side effects that occur when using Essox one or Alugastrin are poorly understood, so far no disturbing side effects have been observed.
