The use of cosmetics with vitamin A at the stage of planning pregnancy and during it, is it safe?

Good morning, I wanted to ask about the use of cosmetics with the addition of vitamin A at the stage of planning pregnancy and during it. I understand that typical creams with retinol are not advisable, but what about cosmetics with the addition of, for example, calendula extract, for example in shampoo, which contains vit. A? Or Linocholesterol ointments? Won't this cause the vitamin to accumulate? Thank you.

It should be emphasized that the doses that occur in cosmetics are too small to damage the fetus. However, with so many different chemical compounds around us, a cumulative effect can occur. According to the study, women taking more than 4500 mg of RE (retinol equivalent) of total vitamin A (from foods and supplements) per day had a 3.5 times higher risk of having a baby born with cranio-neuromuscular-crest defects than mothers consuming less than 1500 mg RE/day. Topical preparations with retinol, retinol palmitate and retinaldehyde should be eliminated during pregnancy, as well as a few months before the planned pregnancy, due to the fact that retinoids, which are well soluble in fats, penetrate into the stratum corneum of the epidermis, to a small extent into the dermis and subcutaneous tissue.
