Based on the conducted studies, it was found that the risk of tendonitis is higher in people over 60 years of age who are not obese and who use oral glucocorticosteroids. Statistically, the side effect described is more common in women than in men. Importantly, Achilles tendon disorders are characterized by swelling, tenderness and swelling, and are often accompanied by sharp pain when walking, which is why in the described case we are most likely dealing with the so-called paresthesia, i.e. a feeling of tingling, numbness, vibration, pricking.
