In response to the great interest of patients, a non-reimbursed drug Ozempic from parallel imports appeared in pharmacies. The availability of the drug in pharmacies can be checked here: Ozempic 0.5 mg https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/99258/ozempic-iniekcja/apteki?pvid=275329 Ozempic 1 mg https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/99258/ozempic-iniekcja/apteki?pvid=275351

As it was written earlier, the reimbursement is decided by the attending physician based on the current condition of the patient and the fulfillment of reimbursement indications. The reimbursement indication of Ozempic is the occurrence of type 2 diabetes, in patients before insulin inclusion, treated with at least two oral hypoglycemic drugs for at least 6 months, with HbA1c ≥ 8%, with obesity defined as BMI ≥35 kg / m2 and very high cardiovascular risk understood as: 1) confirmed cardiovascular disease, or 2) damage to other organs manifested by: proteinuria or left ventricular hypertrophy or retinopathy, or 3)the presence of 2 or more of the main risk factors listed below: -age ≥ 55 years for men, ≥60 years for women, -dyslipidemia, -hypertension, -smoking. In the first sentence, we can see that the indication for reimbursement is the occurrence of diabetes before the introduction of insulin. One I emphasized that in order to find out whether a particular patient is entitled to reimbursement, this question should be referred to the specialist with whom the treatment takes place. Providing information whether a patient will receive reimbursement is not within the competence of the profession of Pharmacist.
I have a similar question: after many months of therapy with Ozempic (reimbursement 30%) after joining the insulin treatment, while maintaining the continuity of Ozempic administration, is the right to reimbursement lost only because of the inclusion of insulin?

Whether a given patient is entitled to reimbursement of the drug is decided by the attending physician based on the history of the disease and information on the pharmacotherapy used. If the conditions set out below are met, Ozempic should remain refunded. I enclose a thread about the indications for the reimbursement of Ozempic, in which it is explained what criteria must be met in order for the treatment to be reimbursed: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/opinie-i-pytania/19457/ozempic-kiedy-lek-ozempic-nalezy-sie-na-znizke
