Hello, Insulin LANTUS should be used 28 days from the start of a new pen, can it be used to wear a pen e.g. 35 days? Can the effect of insulin deteriorate? Best regards

The manufacturer of insulin Lantus indicates, as you wrote, that insulin after the start of the cartridge can be stored for a maximum of 28 days outside the refrigerator (below 30 degrees Celsius). After this date, the manufacturer does not give a guarantee that the drug will work as it should. Therefore, the solution may no longer meet the conditions for its stability. In practice, this means that insulin can "spoil" faster and not give the effect we expect or, in the worst case, harm. Of course, this type of process does not happen overnight on the principle: on the 28th day in the evening insulin is good, and in the morning of the 29th day it is not. However, I encourage you to use the drug according to its shelf life and not to use it when it is no longer usable, as it may bring more harm than good. I leave a material that may interest you:
