Can Moloxin cause anaphylactic shock?
Good morning, can moloxin cause anaphylactic shock? After taking the first dose, I had similar symptoms. I thought that I would lose consciousness at any moment, m.in the pressure jumped to 240/104, I had scotomas in front of my eyes, nausea and a strong blow of blood to the brain. I am after a heart attack and I am being treated for autoimmune diseases and hypertension and 70% narrowing of the thyroid gland. I did not dare to continue treatment with this antibiotic.

From the SmPC of Moloxin: "Hypersensitivity and allergic reactions have been reported after the first administration of fluoroquinolones, including moxifloxacin (the active ingredient in Moloxin). Anaphylactic reactions can lead to life-threatening shock, even after the first dose of the drug. In case of clinical signs of severe allergic reactions, moxifloxacin should be discontinued and appropriate treatment (e.g. anti-shock) should be given."
