Jaundice occurs when the concentration of bilirubin exceeds 43 μmol / l (∼2.5 mg / dl), and below this value only proteins and mucous membranes acquire a yellowish tint (sub-yellow-shaped state). You can get infected through the digestive system after contact with infected food or water (e.g. plants fertilized with human feces, contaminated wells). It is also possible to be infected by direct contact with an infected person - especially with non-compliance with hygiene rules.

Itching of the skin is in this case a very common symptom - it is a symptom of jaundice. After curing the cause, that is, jaundice, itching should subside.
