Such sugar results are definitely too high (especially on an empty stomach), but there can be a lot of reasons for this condition. It is impossible to unequivocally state that the drug does not work. The effect of treatment consists of many factors. What is worth remembering is that regardless of what drug is used, the basis for the treatment of diabetes is the modification of eating habits to healthier ones and the introduction of physical activity. Without it, sooner or later any drug will turn out to be ineffective. Diabetes treatment is not limited to taking medication and measuring sugar levels. It is a disease that requires the patient to make lifestyle changes and motivation for treatment. Whether the drug does not work (despite lifestyle changes and willingness to treat), whether it requires higher doses, or maybe the introduction of an additional preparation, is best assessed by the attending physician. In order to make the decision as easy as possible and also to know when and for what reason this sugar is too high - it is worth for some time (e.g. 1-2 weeks) to observe the body in various situations and reliably approach drawing conclusions from it. What was the previous day for dinner and at what time? On an empty stomach or at what time? at 7:00 or maybe at 10:00? Does physical activity improve performance for the next day? What do the results look like after different meals? What happens 1h and every 2h after eating? Without observation, measurements of sugar at different times of the day, it is impossible to find one accurate answer to the question. I leave a link to the video in which we explain several factors that affect blood sugar levels:
If you want to observe the body, draw conclusions and "learn" a little of your disease - apart from the results from the glucometer - it can help to use the blood glucose monitoring system (FGM or CGM sensors) for at least some time.
