Can a person allergic to penicillin take the antibiotic Clindamycin?
Is anything known about taking the antibiotic clindamycin -MIP How is someone allergic to penicillin? In the leaflet it is written that there were recorded cases with allergy to penicillin which after taking this antibiotic experienced anaphylactic shock. Does anyone have any knowledge on this?

Clindamycin can usually be used in patients who are allergic to penicillin. The occurrence of allergic reactions to clindamycin in people allergic to penicillin (so-called cross-allergy) usually does not occur due to structural differences between the two substances.
