There is no general formula for calculating the dose of an antibiotic for a child. The dosage is determined on the basis of the manufacturer's recommended dosage of the drug per kilogram of body weight on the basis of the usual proportion. The usual dose of Klacid suspension is 7.5 mg/kg body weight twice a day. You will find this information in the leaflet: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/40213/klacid-granulat-do-wytworzenia-zawiesiny/ulotka Knowing that 7.5 mg of the drug is used per 1 kg of the child's body weight twice a day, you can calculate from the proportion what dose of the drug should be received by a child weighing 20 kg. Later, it is necessary to take into account that in 5 ml of Klacid suspension there is 250 mg of the drug and again on the basis of the proportion calculate how much ml of suspension contains the dose of the drug calculated by you.
