I have type 2 diabetes at the beginning I took the drug Metoformax 1000, but after some time about 3-4 months began to hurt my stomach I had nausea and then came acute diarrhea after each eating and taking the drug I had to use the toilet. After changing the drug to Siofor 1000 it was ok, but as after the previous drug is the same. I have a question if there is any other drug swap or something else. And besides, I'm disabled and I'm on a cart. Best regards

Unfortunately, very common side effects of Metformin (Metformax, Siofor) are gastrointestinal disorders such as nausea, diarrhea, bloating, abdominal pain or loss of appetite. Often, these symptoms appear at the beginning of treatment and then disappear spontaneously. To minimize the risk of gastrointestinal disorders, it is recommended to take the drug after a meal. Metformax and Siofor contain the same active substance, so switching did not work. If taking the medicine with or after a meal does not bring improvement, you should contact your doctor to discuss the problem and choose alternative pharmacotherapy.
