W skład Zinerytu wchodzi antybiotyk erytromycyna oraz octan cynku, dlatego można, ale nie trzeba dodatkowo stosować maści cynkowej. Erytromycyna działa przeciwbakteryjnie, a cynk obecny w preparacie Zineryt wzmacnia przeciwtrądzikowe działanie erytromycyny.
Producent leku Zineryt zaleca łączenie preparatu np. z witaminą A czy nadtlenkiem benzoilu.
