Can vaginal inflammation proceed without the slightest symptoms?

After performing cytology from the vaginal stump (after removal of the uterus)the result showed acute inflammation. The doctor prescribed me a macmiror complex. Is it possible that such a condition proceeded without the slightest symptoms? No itching, baking or down water.
