Good morning, I would like to know what the difference is between tramadol and codeine? And which one is stronger without looking at the subjective decision of the doctor choosing the drug.

Tramadol jest agonistą receptorów µ, δ i κ; Kodeina jest agonistą receptora µ.
Jeśli chodzi o powinowactwo do receptora µ w OUN - tramadol ma 10-krotnie niższe od kodeiny, co mogłoby wskazywać, iż tramadol wykazuje 10-krotnie słabsze działanie przeciwbólowe. Nie jest to jednak prawdą, gdyż tak jak podałam powyżej tramadol wpływa jeszcze na dwa typy receptorów - w tym δ, co daje w efekcie silne działanie przeciwbólowe.

Podsumowując - mocniejszym lekiem przeciwbólowym będzie tramadol; kodeina wykazuje działanie przeciwkaszlowe i słabe przeciwbólowe.
