Działanie leku Gaviscon w zawiesinie i w tabletkach jest jednakowe. Zalecane zażycie 10 ml zawiesiny leku Gaviscon jest równoznaczne z zastosowaniem 2 tabletek do rozgryzania i żucia. Zawiesina może wykazywać nieznacznie szybsze działanie preparatu ze względu na rozproszenie składników czynnych.

Leki mogą być stosowane zamiennie oraz równocześnie. Przy czym nie należy przekraczać zalecanych maksymalnie 4 porcji preparatu Gaviscon (niezależnie od zastosowanej formy):
