Plaquenil przy krótkotrwałym leczeniu nie powinien obniżać poziomu leukocytów, a przynajmniej nie jest to częsty, typowy skutek uboczny. Przy długotrwałym stosowaniu tego leku mogą pojawić się jednak pewne zmiany morfologiczne, dlatego w trakcie leczenia należy kontrolować morfologię krwi.
