Opryszczka jest wywoływana przez wirus opryszczki pospolitej (typ HHV-1 lub typ HHV-2). W leczeniu opryszczki stosuje się leki przeciwwirusowe stosowane miejscowo lub ogólnie. Lek Cipronex jest antybiotykiem, czyli lekiem przeciwbakteryjnym. Cipronex nie zmniejszy objawów opryszczki.
