Can oflodinex be used for otitis?
Hi, I have a question about the drug, on the prescription I got drops of Oflodinex from Mrs. ENT, they were prescribed for otitis, but after purchase I saw that these are eye drops, although they work on inflammation but I have a question whether I can use this medicine in the ear or did there be any mistake on the part of your doctor?

Since I had a permanent perforation of the eardrum, I always got eye drops with antibiotics in the affected ear. They are more delicate but just as effective as those for the ears. The thing is that behind the eardrum is a "bare" bone and eye droplets do not irritate it. However, they usually irritate enough that pain may be felt.

Krople te zawierają w swoim składzie ofloksacynę, czyli antybiotyk, której działanie można również wykorzystać w leczeniu zapalenia ucha, jeśli powodowane jest ono przez bakterie, które są wrażliwe na ten lek. Zdarza się czasem, że krople do oczu podawane są do nosa, czy ucha, jeśli nie istnieje inna forma podania z tym antybiotykiem.
Sadzę, że lekarz dokładnie taki miał zamiar, jednak całkowitą pewność można mieć jedynie po bezpośredniej rozmowie z nim np. telefonicznie.
