Can problems with the Ektin drop applicator be a sign of defective packaging and should you give them up?

Ektin drops are good, but the dropper is tragic. Twice during the dripping, part of the element popped off, which caused a stroke in my eye the second time. I threw away the almost new packaging. Despite the fact that the drops served me, the packaging turned out to be dangerous to use. No more of these drops

The described problem is most likely due to malfunction of the dropper or its mechanical damage during use. In such a situation, part of the bottle may uncontrollably detach, which is indeed uncomfortable and may irritate the eye, although it usually does not pose a health risk.

If the situation has repeated itself twice and resulted in the loss of the preparation, it is wise to discontinue the use of this packaging and report the problem to the pharmacy or to the manufacturer. It is also worth asking the pharmacist about an alternative preparation with the same active substance, but in a different application system, which may be more convenient and safe to use.
