Can you eat soy and its products, i.e. tofu, while taking tamoxifen? I'm a vegetarian, I don't eat meat or fish, and soy and other legumes were (and are) the main source of protein in my diet.

Currently, it is not believed that moderate consumption of soybeans and soy products can interfere with tamoxifen treatment (but preparations containing condensed soy extracts should not be taken). Studies have also not confirmed an increase in the risk of cancer recurrence with the consumption of normal soy products. It is believed that safe amounts are, for example, one glass of soy milk per day or a serving of tofu 100-200 gr. Concentrated soy protein isolates should be avoided.
