Travatan may be available as a full payment if your doctor has written a prescription for this medicine outside the reimbursement indications or for a patient who does not meet the conditions for reimbursement.
Reimbursement of a medicine depends on the medical indications specified in the list of reimbursed medicines and must comply with the rules of reimbursement set out by the Ministry of Health. Travatan is reimbursed for glaucoma patients. Lowering elevated intraocular pressure in patients with ocular hypertension is not an indication for reimbursement - then the drug is prescribed for full payment. The pharmacist has no influence on this decision, as it is the doctor who determines the payment on the prescription on the basis of the patient's medical records and health.
